Fox Moves 'Terminator,' Finds Home For 'Fringe'

Not only will "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" be looking at a fall launch later this year, but it will have a new timeslot as well.

"Sarah Connor" will now air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox's fall schedule, switching places with "Prison Break," which will now move to 9. It's unclear if such a move will force "Sarah Connor" to tone down some of the violence at all since the FCC has traditionally considered the 8 p.m. hour part of "family viewing time."

"Fringe" has an amazing schedule slot, showing a huge amount of confidence for the show by the network. It will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, as the lead-out program for Fox's highest-rated scripted series, "House," according to TV Guide. "Fringe" was creator by J.J. Abrams of "Lost" and "Star Trek XI" fame, and marks an interesting move by the network to put genre series so early in the week when Fox traditionally airs such shows on Fridays and Sundays.

"Fringe" also will get a two-hour premiere, meaning it won't get a first-episode bump from "House," on Aug. 26. It will be be a part of a three-pronged two-hour premiere week for Fox that starts Aug. 25 with "Prison Break" and ends Aug. 27 with the David Boreanaz series "Bones."

"Dollhouse," the new show from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Firefly" creator Joss Whedon, won't premiere until mid-season, around the same time as "24," "Hell's Kitchen" and "American Idol."

Fox presented its schedule Thursday as part of week-long upfront presentations from most of the major cable networks. CBS, ABC and The CW already released their schedules, while NBC decided to do an anti-upfront presentation that people are still trying to figure out.
